The traditional path to therapy can feel like a confusing maze. Reliant on GP recommendations or impersonal online directories, clients often lack choice and control, leading to less-than-ideal matches. Recognising this disconnect, Radiant was born with the mission of revolutionising how people find and connect with therapists.
As Lead Product Designer, I led the design, research and strategy of the Radiant platform. My responsibilities included:
Defining the user experience based on research findings and user needs.
Conducting research, facilitating workshops and running usability testing sessions to uncover and validate concepts and designs
Collaborating with designers, researchers, developers, and stakeholders to translate insights into actionable features.
Ensuring a user-friendly, intuitive, and visually appealing interface for both clients and therapists.
Iterating and refining the design based on user feedback and data analysis.
Working with a UX researcher we employed various methods to understand the mental health landscape. First, we analysed existing trends and challenges via literature reviews. Workshops with practitioners helped identify key questions for accurately matching clients with therapists. In-depth interviews with both clients and therapists provided rich qualitative data on their needs and frustrations. Finally, surveys across a broad audience quantified preferences and behaviours, solidifying our understanding of their desired experience.
These methods yielded valuable insights:
Growing demand for online therapy resources: Users are increasingly turning to online platforms to find therapists.
Need for personalised matching: Clients crave a search experience tailored to their individual needs and preferences.
Importance of information and transparency: Both clients and therapists value detailed profiles and personal insights for building trust.
Desire for empowerment and control: Clients want to play an active role in choosing their therapist.
